Reeling Mind. Tapping Keys. Poem Written.

9.21.15

Devoid of all emotion, my heart still beats its endless song.

It click-clocks its way into a rage filled room and laughs

at all its humorous misfortune.

It finds me there, rocking to a song with no melody-

singing the blues by a boarded up window and

I tap my foot to the thump thump thump of the howl of my heart.

Surrender to the deafening clobbering of the whip

Taste the salty metal in the air

and dive-

dive into the stream of obsolete dreams and wishes.

Time-warn and stale love

fastened in the thump thump thump

of my impious, unrepenting, hardbitten

charitable, merciful, tender,

hurting heart.
