Dear Baby,

You’re not here yet. You don’t even exist. All you are, right now, is a bunch of unanswered prayers and unsuccessful science experiments. But one day, you will be, and for that, mommy did something big for you today. She bought you a house. It’s not much, it’s not big, but you’ll have a yard, one you can run around in. You’ll have your own room, not just a crib in the corner of my bedroom. You’ll go to good schools, where, hopefully, you will be safe. You’ll learn everything you need to, and if there’s something you’re not good at, don’t worry, little one, we’ll do it together. But, I promise, I will focus more on what you are good at than what you’re not. You’ll learn the basics, and I will help you learn more, in order to make the right decisions for your life. I will protect you, forever.

Today was huge baby. You have a home to come to. Pappou and Giagia helped. They always help. I am so beyond thankful for them. I am not sure how you will come into the world yet, whether we will have a daddy in your life or not, but know I want to be your mommy so much, I am willing to do it alone. I was hoping we could be a family. Lord knows we tried all year for you, but if we don’t, and just in case it is just me and you, know mama did this for you, even before you existed. That’s how much you are already loved.

I can’t wait to feel you growing in my belly. I can’t wait to hold you. I can’t wait to love you. I can’t wait to watch you grow in our home. Today was all about you. I will continue to pray for you, my little miracle.
